EL PORTAL has used adobe architecture, including 200-year-old beams and 1903 stained glass (above). The Innhas 12 suites (below). The suites contain Arts and Crafts period furnishings.

Owned by Steve and Connie Segner, this property has authentic, hand-crafted adobe construction, with 18-inch walls that surround an interior that features museum-quality furnishings.
Interior walls, fireplaces and window frames are designed with traditional round edges, creating soft, flowing movement to the structure.
El Portal has been created to provide guests with a sense of character and history, along with luxury.
Using reclaimed materials, genuine antiques and ages-old building methods, this retreat will offer serenity and removal from modern day life.
El Portal’s 12 suites have been created in accordance with the simplicity and function of turn-of-the century architecture and are furnished in the styles of Arts and Crafts, Art Deco, Art Nouveau and Southwest.
Guests will begin each day with a Southwest breakfast of fresh, natural, healthy foods prepared in El Portal’s own kitchen and served outdoors most of the year. Each afternoon there will be specialty hors d’oeuvres and drinks.
A festive atmosphere is planned for special holidays and occasions, when brunches and dinners will also be served.
Groups such as small wedding parties and other intimate celebrations will be accommodated.
Daily rates for El Portal suites will range from $225 to $495.
El Portal is located at 95 Portal Lane, adjacent to Tlaquepaque.
