El Portal Sedona Hotel - Sedona Hiking

Sedona – Fresh Air Fantastic!

Did you know the average American spends most of the summer in stale offices and living rooms. Even children today spend 2 hours less on sports and outdoor activities per week than they did 20 years ago.

All this time spent inside is not good for our health. People who spend more time outside in “green” spaces have lower stress levels, more success at work/school, and simply being in sunlight triggers skin to make vitamin D.

So get outside this spring & summer. Enjoy the “great outdoors” with your family and friends – here in Sedona! Try any one of these wonderful outdoor Sedona activitiesFishing Sedona - El Portal Sedona

Hiking – we have AMAZING hikes for beginners to expert hikers; one of the best ways to experience the magical red rocks! Try Fay Canyon Trail or Doe Mountain Trail; for the more advanced there’s Devil’s Bridge. Our trails are pet friendly, but keep them on a leash.
Swimming – Slide Rock State Park has a natural water slide for family fun! Even splashing in the lazy streams and slow moving creeks in the Sedona area make for a great day!
Fishing – there IS fishing in the desert! It’s a very popular activity in Red Rock Country. Several streams provide for some amazing fly fishing, with brown and rainbow trout, carp, sunfish, bass, catfish and roundtail chub. Add the spectacular scenery and it quickly becomes a memorable experience.
Jeep Tours – these are fun and exciting. Sedona has numerous tour companies – we like Pink Jeep and Safari Adventures.
Hot Air Balloon Rides – talk about exciting and fun!
Golfing – we have championship courses here in Sedona. At El Portal, we’ll even book your tee time!
Biking – our trails are some of the finest in the country! Try trails like Llama Trail, Baldwin Trail, The Templeton Trail, Broken Arrow Trail and Little Horse Trail. All have spectacular views of red rock formations!
Shopping – yes, shopping will provide you with fresh air! Wander the shops and galleries of Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village, or Uptown Sedona. No big malls here!El Portal Sedona Hotel
